Let the planning begin!
It’s that time of year again—planning my annual golf trip with the boys to Las Vegas! For the past few years, we’ve squeezed it in before Christmas, but with busy schedules and my work in supply chain, we’ve decided to move it to early January. We like to keep things low-key, so we typically stay at South Point. It’s easy to get in and out for early tee times, the rooms are nice, the gambling minimums are reasonable, and it’s affordable—perfect for what we’re looking for. So, luckily, no need to research where to stay this year.
The big question, though, is always the courses. This will be our fifth trip to Vegas in four years (I had to skip 2020 due to COVID). Last June, we played Bali Hai Golf Club and Reflection Bay, which I’d been wanting to try for a while. Both were great, and Reflection Bay was such a standout with its amazing holes that it’s definitely making a repeat on our list this time. Now, I’m in the thick of deciding on the other courses. I like to read up on reviews, check Yelp, Google, and TripAdvisor for recent feedback, and, of course, always confirm maintenance schedules—there’s nothing worse than showing up to play only to find the greens have just been worked on.
This whole process of planning is what inspired me to start this website. I’ve picked up a lot of tips over the years, and I’m excited to share them here, along with other cool golf stuff. Thanks to everyone who reads and follows along!
